Hello to all my blog readers…I mean, hello to both my blog readers…I mean, hi Faith. The fact that I haven’t blogged for several months isn’t really such a transgression. I have been in such a winter’s rut that I can summarize my life in a few brief words; my health is progressing nicely, I haven’t done squat on the house remodeling, I go to work and struggle with the same personalities, I come home and crash, and I am still enjoying my grandson immensely. That’s about it.
We are heading towards the finish line on a major effort at work which was to implement a new enterprise system to handle operations, accounting, and financials. It has been a huge endeavor for our small company, but when the dust settles I think we will conclude that the cost and sweat was worth it. Today, Friday, I am allowing myself to feel like things are going well. That inner peace is being allowed to stick its head out of the cage and sniff around a little. I always have it on a short leash and, anymore, it is inherently cautious; maybe paranoid. There are snakes in grass, alligators in the weeds, and hammers ready to fall but, for a little while I’m going to think things are in control and going well. If this lasts until 5:00, I can have a good weekend and mow the grass for the first time (yech).

Glad to hear from you. There are butterflies out there, too. Perhaps you’ll scare a few out of the grass when you’re mowing. Blessings abound
I always enjoy reading your blogs. “Bring ‘em on.” The NYT ‘farm’ editorialist mentioned recently how people who live in the country always are leaning toward the next season and Spring certainly seems like a delightful season to be entering. I’ve been checking out the progress of the woodland wildflowers as I play with my new toy – a GPS to map our trails.
Well, your purported ‘one’ blog reader didn’t even make the grade: had to be reminded to check, in fact! I put this down to my having checked on a semi-daily basis for months, and, left unrewarded, sloughed off. Or maybe just to the tail end of the work craziness to which you refer.
Anyway.
WELCOME BACK!
Spring is definitely a time to breath deep and let inner peace steal back into one’s psyche. Even mowing the grass can be a moment of reflection. Well. AFTER mowing, maybe.
Much lazing about in newmown grass to you, and fergawdsake let the house remodeling lie. It’s SUPPOSED to be there as a conversation piece (“….and this unfinished room? Well, I started not finishing this one in ought-six…”)
I know what you mean about the snakes and the alligators and hammers, but I never lose sight of the butterflies and the manatees and the smell of fresh apple pie. Have a happy weekend, Bob, and congrats on the results you’re getting, at work and everywhere else.
you know…when you put life, be that as it may, into perspective…whether you blog or not really doesn’t seem to rank way up there on the “need to do” list, sometimes, does it?
work/sleep/tend to family — rinse/repeat
sounds more than familiar right now.
however, i still feel the twinges of guilt when i don’t get around to visit people here.
good to see your voice around.
[i'm still laughin' at faith getting all sputtery over not being the first here] [dang that life again, eh?]
I hope things are still going well.
Hoping all continues to go well with you. Blessings abound
